Elections for the Site Based Decision Making council, SBDM, will be held at Meadowthorpe on March 19th, 2008. Elections will take place at the school and are open to any parents that will have students enrolled at Meadowthorpe for the coming school year, 2008-09. What is the SBDM council?
The council is the governing body for this school. It determines school
policy for curriculum, staffing, discipline, scheduling, instructional
practices, extra-curricular activities and other matters pertinent to the
operation of the school. The council meets once per month throughout the year.
Who serves on the
council?
Two parents, three teachers, and the principal serve on the council.
Who may vote in the election?
Parents, stepparents, foster parents, legal guardians of students attending
school during the 2008-2009 school year.
When do we vote?
Voting will take place on March 19, 2008. Voting time will be from 7:15
a.m.-8:00 a.m.; 10:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.; and 2:15 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Two parent
members will be elected to serve on the council. Absentee ballots will not be
allowed.
