Powhatan was a chief in the Powhatan tribe. Powhatan was born in1548 and died in 1618 which made him 70 years old. Powhatan lived in Jamestown, Virginia. Pocahontas was Powhatan's favorite daughter. Powhatan was a very important person!
The Powhatan tribe had a very good
way of living. The villages had 
no more than 20 houses. The Powhatan
had many methods of catching fish. The chief wore a head band made
of copper. A group of hunters could kill 15 deer at once. The
Powhatan had lots of ways of living!
The Powhatan made a lot of things! The Powhatan tribe could make canoes 50 feet long and could fit 40 people! The father in the family made bows and arrows for their sons. One big reason the Powhatan hunted was so the woman in the family could make clothes for the people in her family. Their houses were made out of sticks and twigs. Lots of things were made in the Powhatan tribe.
