The Seminole didn't have money but traded. The everglades were filled  with alligators and otters. White men brought bees. The Seminole called the honey "bees wax." The Indians traded  lots of hides honey, beads, cloth and lots more  stuff.

In 1832 the seven chiefs looked to the west for a home. When they were there some signed  a treaty against the move. But some chiefs didn't  allow them to do this. when the chiefs returned they said they had been tricked. when the government heard about this they said they didn't have to move.

The name Seminole means "run away." By the 1800's these Indians then on known as the "Seminole."    They built  there houses beside the river. For shelter they had poles. For food they mostly  had fish. The Seminole lived in Florida but  after three battles  they forced to move  all the way to the plains.
