The men would sheer the wool with a long knife from the bone of a river bass. The Algonquin would then have a good meal of sheep meat, or lamb chops. It was a favorite food of the Algonquin. The deer was a sacred food of the Algonquin. They would never shoot an arrow into the head for fear of evil spirits. The meat was said to have magic. If you ate it, you would be strong forever. The Algonquin hunted deer in August.
In July, the Algonquin hunted eagles.
It was mostly for religious reasons. The feathers were for outfits.
